What's it all about?

Art Ninja HQ has a mission to support communities through creativity. Creativity is at the heart of everything we do, it can help you with your well-being, bring people together and provide a safe space to explore problems, celebrate successes and make friends. A community art studio can support these ideals by providing the space for that to happen in a fun and proactive way where everyone is equal and valued.

There is no 'wrong way' in Art Ninja HQ!

What is Art Ninja HQ like?

Art Ninja HQ is a fun, quirky and relaxed space, designed to allow you freedom to choose a quiet area or a more sociable space. The studio is set out to ensure Covid safe spacing with individual workstations. It is relaxed with tables, chairs, a refreshment station and all the art materials you could ever need! I am an experienced tutor (and Creative Counsellor) and will be there to support you if you require it. There is a daily project you can join in with or just grab some materials from the shelves and get started.

There is also a quiet corner if you want to have some space without feeling like you have to chat. The 'cosy chairs' are there to sit and knit or sew or just not sit at a table. The choice is yours.

What ages do we allow?

Art Ninja HQ is primarily an adult environment. I made this decision so I can focus on offering a positive creative and therapeutic experience for adults and young adults. (The much younger artists are currently well catered for elsewhere.) This may change however, if there is a need please come and see me, I am happy to help.

Accessibility and mobility?

The room is on the ground floor level with easy access into the room. There are also mobility friendly toilets nearby. I am very happy to accommodate anyone's needs so please come and see me so I can help make your studio time comfortable and safe for you.

Parking and public transport?

There is parking and disabled parking on site. The car park can get very busy at certain times of the day so it can be tricky to park onsite. There is ample free parking on the South Park road just past the pedestrian crossing. If you are coming into town there are public car parks at St Marks and the new Car Park near the Bus Station.

BUS AND TRAIN STATIONS are a 20 minute walk away with bus stops at the end of the High Street, just come down the High Street to the South Common roundabout, walk left to the crossing and we are there near the play park. CLICK HERE FOR MAP

How do I  get involved?

Book and pay HERE

There is no need to book, but you can do if you find that helpful, which you can do online or by texting or calling on 07802 478515. Payment and donations can be by cash or card in the studio or you can book and pay online HERE.

All materials and refreshments are included. £2 - £5 suggested donation.(the booking system has a session of 1 hour, but this is just a guide, it does not matter if you are early/late or stay longer!)

Workshops, classes and support groups

Specialist workshops and classes will also be running on Saturday mornings. The equipment and tutoring mean there is a separate cost, booking for these through the BOOK page, or with me in the studio.

The support groups run every week but days are flexible depending upon the groups needs so please let me know if you would like a different day/time.

Above all please relax and enjoy the space, whether you choose to be creative or just sit and read, natter and relax, you will always be welcome.
