COMMUNITY ART STUDIO
What's it all about?
Art Ninja HQ has a mission to support communities through creativity. Creativity is at the heart of everything we do, it can help you with your well-being, bring people together and provide a safe space to explore problems, celebrate successes and make friends. A community art studio can support these ideals by providing the space for that to happen in a fun and proactive way where everyone is equal and valued.
There is no 'wrong way' in Art Ninja HQ!
What is Art Ninja HQ like?
Art Ninja HQ is a fun, quirky and relaxed space, designed to allow you freedom to choose a quiet area or a more sociable space. The studio is set out to ensure Covid safe spacing with individual workstations. It is relaxed with tables, chairs, a refreshment station and all the art materials you could ever need! I am an experienced tutor and will be there to support you if you require it. There is a daily project you can join in with or just grab some materials from the shelves and get started.
There is also a quiet corner if you want to sit and knit or sew or just not sit at a table. The choice is yours.
What ages do we allow?
I offer the space from age 10 upwards. I made this decision so I can focus on offering a positive creative experience for younger artists who may be working towards building a portfolio or school work. The much younger artists are currently well catered for elsewhere. This may change however, if there is a need please come and see me, I am happy to help.
There will be a regular Kids Club running when we are able to.
Accessibility and mobility?
The room is on the ground floor level with easy access into the room. There are also mobility friendly toilets nearby. I am very happy to accomodate anyones needs so please come and see me so I can help make your studio time comfortable and safe for you.
Parking and public transport?
There is disabled parking on site. The car park can get very busy at certain times of the day so it can be tricky to park onsite. There is ample free parking on the road just past the pedestrian crossing. If you are coming into town there are public car parks at St Marks and the new Car Park near the Bus Station.
BUS AND TRAIN STATIONS are a 20 minute walk away, just come down the High Street to the South Common roundabout, walk left to the crossing and we are there near the play park.
How do I get involved?
Pay as you go
You can just come along and pay on the day by the hour or half hour.
I can take cash and card payments in the studio or you can book and pay online in the online shop. With limited space though you may need to wait if you haven't booked or there is the option of booking in with me to secure your place. It is fairly relaxed so don't worry too much, if you are in the middle of something I won't make you stop!
All materials and refreshments are included. £5 (a session of 2 hours)
Become an Art Ninja Partner
This is an annual payment of £20 which supports our work here in the community. As an Art Ninja Partner you will also get special benefits to show our appreciation of your support. You will be invited to attend social events and get priority booking for workshops, events and support groups. You will also have the option of using a safe space to store your ongoing projects (subject to space of course depending upon the size of your project!).
Workshops, classes and support groups
Specialist workshops and classes will also be running periodically. The equipment and tutoring means there is a seperate cost and booking for these through the shop, or with me in the studio. Art Ninja Partners will get priority booking for these too.
The support groups run every week but days are flexible depending upon the groups needs.
COVID SAFE PROCEDURES
Your safety is my main priority. The covid safety procedures will be explained to you when you attend the studio. I have tried hard to keep it a relaxed and friendly environment while ensuring everyones safety.
